Nursery Curricular Goals

In Nursery, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is made up of key areas of learning. The Prime Areas - Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Children also learn to develop their Literacy, Maths, Creative skills and Understanding of the world through hands on practical activities and small group sessions. Play is at the heart of all we do and we value the learning environment as a way for children to develop and steer their learning, curiosity, independence and resilience. Your child's class teacher and support staff track your child closely throughout the year and measure their progress against age related levels.

Throughout the Nursery Year your child will partake in an ambitious curriculum which is designed in a sequential way to ensure progress towards our end of year curricular goals. See below.

Please click here for a more detailed curriculum plan and overview.

Below is a broad overview of what your child will be learning this half term:

Nursery Timetable

This half term we are learning......

Throughout early years, Tapestry is used to record and celebrate children's achievements and observations. This can be accessed online through your unique account. We pride ourselves on the quality and detail of our observations and see this as a way to share and engage with parents and carers at home sharing successes and next steps.
